This restaurant is similar to Roti Chai in the sense that it has a contemporary yet borderline hipster setting. Brick walls, dim-lighting, high stools, wooden tables - that sort of thing.
I went to Imli Street with my girls on a Wednesday night. We didn't book a table but luckily got seated immediately even though it was busy, I think we just got lucky.
We decided to get an array of starters and mains and share. Here are the details:
Starters:
Best starter: Samosa Chaat, but I'm chaat-biased; I LOVE chaats - it's the way to my heart really.
Mains:
Mains:
Malai Tikka - probably my least fav item on the menu. I was really looking forward to the cream cheese coating on the chicken (as stated on the menu) but this chicken tasted as bland as anything. The chicken really needed more marinade. Oh and the naan bread was served in cute mini buckets - I really liked this idea!
Best main: Chicken Tikka Masala - I mean, you can't really ever go wrong with chicken tikka masala. It's a classic Indian dish so as long as you get the key ingredients right - you're guaranteed success, which is what we got at Imli Street: a classic, timeless, tasty curry.
Overall, I think this restaurant is worth a visit. Main points:
1) Food came quickly.
2) Chaats were so yum (see above).
3) Great place to catch up with friends over a great meal.
