The Place
Want to see the physical definition of ‘traditional Persia’? Then take a trip to Behesht because it is literately a manifestation of Persia.
I went to the restaurant with my family for my mom’s birthday last weekend and we were all stood with our mouths open at just how well decorated the restaurant is. Literately from the ceiling to the floors, tables, walls everything was Persia!
Traditional glass lamps hung from the ceiling, large heavy wooden dining tables, small stone-decorated water fountains with little goldfish in them, glass display cabinets with small traditional Persian decorations – wow, just wow.
I have never been to a restaurant where I’ve felt the culture so vividly just through its décor. 10/10 for interior.
Service wise – it was completely packed (we went on Saturday night) I was super impressed at just how fast our food came (within 10 minutes of ordering we had our starters).

The Food
We ordered so much food, I won't bore you with the details of reviewing every single thing we ordered. Instead, I'll give you some highlights so you have an inkling of what the food is like:
- Portion sizes - We generally ordered following a 'one dish between two people' policy and there was still so much left over that we got it all packed.
The grills came in semi-large oval trays and the stews came in pretty deep bowls. The portion sizes are very generous - you get your money's worth.

- Lamb - Everything with lamb that we ordered (grills, stews) was perfectly tender. According to my brother, it was the best lamb he had ever had from all Persian restaurants.
- Persian Tea - This was the real winner for me, the tea came in a traditional teapot and we had small glass 'cups' and sugar lollipops to mix in the tea. The tea itself was delicious. The only thing I'd say they lacked was maybe putting fresh mint leaves in the tea mmm that would've sealed the deal (perhaps I'm being a bit too picky).
We also got a complimentary plate of Persian sweets! Deep fried, sugar coated sweets, (very unhealthy, but very very nice too) I had to really push myself to only have one (got to keep up with new years resolution, its still Jan!).
